my mom borrowed my Triple E for the day to show it off at their office, they have been in discussions as to what kind to computers to assign to different departments and staff. some of their considerations are portability, convenience and price, of course since its a government agency.
since they have over 10 regional offices and sometimes are required to send staff to remote provinces and sometimes even out of the country to conduct examinations, laptops have been indispensable for them. while a standard laptop is usually issued to department heads and officers, a triple E might be convenient especially when in the field.
the best thing about the triple E is how many people are instantly enamoured when they see it and how small it is, usually they are turned off when they find out it runs linux but once they use it for a short while, its evident that Asus has done well to customize the Xandros distribution to look and function a lot like a standard Windows OS, it makes the general learning curve a lot easier to manage. its only when you need to add new programs or make modifications to the system that makes it harder for the average user but in general, i'd recommend it to anyone willing to shell out 17k. like my thoughts on driving, i believe everyone should know how to use a computer so that they understand how convenient it is and how easy it will be to understand its limitations and proper use.

as for the Rockstar comment, a number of people from my mom's office are in love with the Triple E, now they all want one, unfortunately the one they want is mine.

P.S.: this blog post was composed on Ziggy, my 4 year old 17" HP laptop since Holocron, my triple E is still out on tour

for everyone
Instructions: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

1) I get obsessive about certain things:
  • keeping things neat and arranged in perfect alignment
  • washing my hands more often than normal
  • fixing things non-stop like computers, cars and other gadgets
2) i love trivia, i absolutely love trivia. i could spend hours just reading about minute details about things that you normally wouldn't consider. i can pull trivia about practically every single topic you can think of.

3) i have more podcasts in my MP3 player than music, i listen to tech news, Star Wars news and other related discussions on my iPod. the music is just there when there are other people in the car with me. i don't even watch news on TV and i hardly read the newspaper, online news is infrequent, i get most of my information from podcasts and the discovery channel.

4) i tend to procrastinate often... i'll finish this list next time

...just kidding

5) i like to drive. driving is my relaxing time, its when i'm shielded from the outside world yet i'm going places. its where i listen to podcasts about all sorts of things. i'm less concerned about getting to the destination on time and making sure i don't get in an accident by speeding.

6) i was a very introverted kid, which in simple words, means i was shy. i just don't know why nobody believes me when i say that.

7) i watched each of the Star Wars Original Trilogy movies over 100 times, the animated 1986  Transformers the Movie about 57 times, i used to be able to quote the lines verbatim. i've read the entire LOTR trilogy including the hobbit at least once a year since 1985.
