Disturbing Mental Pictures

From the New Worlds website:

Hello Manny, Regina, Oneal and the entire Philippine Outpost!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to Manny, Regina and Oneal for braving the tedious travel from the Philippines to the United States to take part in the TORP. I just want to say that everyone in the PI Outpost should be very proud of these three. Manny, you and Regina did an outstanding job of training and marching. I still can't believe that the two of you braved the heat and the long distance 5.5 miles in that suit of armor. I have to say that in my 25 years in the Army, I don't think that I could have pulled off a forced march that you two did in hard plastic. I will go on record as saying that you two did the Philippines very proud by making it all the way! I hope that by this exposure to the PI Outpost and the 501st Legion you will start to gain more and more members to your unit.

Oneal was fantastic as a fan relations person. Along with you and Regina, he had made me feel comfortable and aware of what the PI Outpost was all about. I can't wait to see photos from his camera and I hope that you guys can forward the link to your Outpost site? I would really like to continue my relationship with the PI Outpost and I hope that I will have the opportunity to meet all of you again in the near future?

Manny, many thanks to you and the Golden Gate Garrison for your sponsorship for Honorary Membership in to the 501st Legion. I am deeply touched and honored to have received the award from you and from Ian. I will have to admit... I went from being a die-hard Star Trek fan to a fanatical Star Wars/501st Legion fan.

With this I leave you (temporarily) and wish you and the Philippine Outpost the best of luck for the future and ask that you all can keep in touch with me (and Rex). Till then...MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALWAYS.

I can't decide whether to be offended or not, hehehe. I know what he means, though. If I received the same kind of treatment he did, I may find myself enamored with Star Wars myself. But NOT more so than Star Trek (sniff!) I personally think a person could like both without any internal conflict.

Congratulations and you sure look like you all had a blast! I got to catch part of the rose parade and so them clunky white-armored folk march by. It somehow seems more amazing knowing how long you guys had to march than just watching it. From where I was sitting it looked easy. Wish I could have picked you guys out, though, hehehe.

It's easy to pick Rej out. She's at the edge of the formation kasi. Hehehehe. And most of the people are taller than her. :p
